Styled Shoot and How This Can Help You Get Great Wedding Photos!

As a professional wedding photographer I have a need to push myself, increase my skill set and above all, learn to be better than I am now so that I can provide images that my clients love so that more people will want me to be there wedding photographer!

How do I do this?

To accomplish this I take part in courses run by other wedding photographers that I admire or styled shoots with other suppliers. On Monday I did my most recent styled shoot at a local hotel with two models. This gave me the complete day to play. It allowed me to set up situations that I face on a wedding day and try to be more creative. On this day, my goal was to go for a more editorial look and to edit the images using my 2022 colour grading that I will deliver to all of my clients.

How this will benefit couples

As my style develops (and it will always develop), I am able provide my couples with better quality images that they will cherish forever. It allows me to develop a style that, I hope, sets me apart from other photographers so that I am able to provide something different. Importantly, it shows couples what they could have on their wedding day or on a “couple session” (see below).

Couple Sessions

These are shoots that can either be before your wedding or after your wedding and have various benefits:

  • It allows for for awesome photos of the both of you.

  • If the session is before your wedding, it allows me to create a slideshow of images that can be shown to your guests on your wedding day.

  • You can include locations of your choice that may be special to the two of you.

  • You will look your best and not have any wedding day nerves - I can provide an MUA for the session if required.

  • You get more time which means more images.

  • You do not need to worry about photos on the day which means that you get more time with your guests.

  • If the weather is awful on your big day or its a winter wedding, this is an option for you to still get those photos that you had planned (this is the most common reason couples have asked me for a post-wedding session).

There are also negatives and this session may not be for everyone:

  • If its a pre-wedding shoot it means the wedding dress is not a surprise.

  • If the session is post-wedding, it means getting dressed up all over again.

The decision is yours and is a service I offer and worthy of consideration.

Enjoy the images….
