A day with perfect timing
The sort of wedding day that feels joyful from the very beginning.
Natasha and Aaron’s wedding at Tylney Hall was an amazing day to photograph — full of warmth, laughter, elegant surroundings and one of those weather stories that somehow works out exactly as it should.
With rain threatening in the background, the ceremony still took place outside in the Italian Garden. It gave the day a beautiful sense of anticipation, but the weather held just long enough for the most important part of the day to unfold exactly where Natasha and Aaron had hoped.
The Italian Garden ceremony
An outdoor ceremony, despite the forecast trying to say otherwise.
The Italian Garden at Tylney Hall is a beautiful setting for a ceremony, with the symmetry, structure and classic country-house feel that suits natural, editorial wedding photography so well.
Despite the threat of rain, Natasha and Aaron were able to have their ceremony outdoors. It felt intimate, elegant and relaxed — the kind of setting where the emotions of the ceremony and the beauty of the venue work together without needing anything to feel forced.
Confetti before the rain
The timing could not have been better.
One of my favourite little stories from the day was the weather. The rain held off for the outdoor ceremony, stayed away for the confetti, and then arrived almost immediately afterwards.
As wedding-day timing goes, it was pretty much perfect. Confetti photographs always have so much movement, laughter and energy, and Natasha and Aaron managed to have that moment outside before everyone naturally moved towards cover as the rain began.
Terrace drinks and canapés
A relaxed reception, indoors and out on the terrace.
After the ceremony and confetti, the celebrations continued with canapés inside and out on the terrace, giving everyone time to talk, laugh and enjoy the setting.
I should also give a special mention to the mini-burgers, which were genuinely very tasty. I even had a little helper who quietly made sure I managed to secure a few — one of those small, funny wedding-day moments that makes the day feel even more personal.
Family and group photographs

Group photographs were taken on the terrace, using the venue as a clean and elegant backdrop while keeping everything relaxed and efficient.
For me, formal group photographs should feel organised without taking over the day. They are important, but they should not pull the couple away from their guests for too long. Tylney Hall gave us a lovely setting to capture the key family and group images before moving into the couple portraits.
Couple portraits in the grounds
Beautiful grounds, calm direction and enough time to create something special.
Natasha and Aaron had originally planned around an hour for couple photographs, which told me how important the portraits were to them. In the end, the wedding-day timings meant we had closer to thirty minutes.
That was still plenty of time. I am often used to creating a strong set of couple portraits in ten minutes, so having half an hour around the grounds of Tylney Hall felt like a real luxury. We were able to keep things relaxed, move through the grounds without rushing, and create photographs that felt elegant, natural and true to them.
